Ultimate X-Men #1

Ultimate X-Men #1
Just like Spider-Man was reinvented for a new generation with Ultimate Spider-Man, the X-Men started out fresh with this 1st issue of Ultimate X-Men by Mark Millar and penciled by Adam Kubert. It's kind of weird to see the X-Men looking and acting so young. It's an interesting alternate Marvel universe nonetheless. At the moment, Ultimate X-Men is up to issue #90.

Creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Joss Whedon, created a new X-Men series called Astonishing X-Men back in 2005. Whedon continues to write this successful series, which is currently on issue #24.

Crisis on Infinite Earths #1

Crisis on Infinite Earths #1
1st issue of the classic mini-series from 1985. If not for this series there would have never been a Countdown or Infinite Crisis. See how it all started. Also you can read a history about Crisis on Infinite Earths and how the story continued in future DC series here.

Fantastic Four - shelved movie clip Repost (Video)

Fantastic Four - shelved movie clip Repost (Video)
One avi (DivX) video file | 17 Mb | 04:43
You have probably heard of it floating around out there. Back in 1994, Marvel had a Fantastic Four movie filmed and they never bothered to release it in the theaters or on video. I remember looking forward to this movie and disappointed when I read that it had been shelved. Actually it was a good thing that this movie was never released. I have about a 5 minute segment of the film that I'll share with you and you can have a good laugh at it. Doctor Doom cracks me up every time I see him waving his hands around like he's struggling for air or anyone's attention. "Look at me! I'm Doom!" I think not. I guess that they do sell the entire version of this movie on the web somewhere, but I wouldn't waste my valuable time on it. It's just something to laugh at over the weekend. Make sure to use the DivX player to watch it. Bauer out.

Angela #1

Angela #1
Angela made such a splash in her 1st appearance made in Spawn #9 that she was given a 3-issue mini-series. This is Angela's second appearance, which is penciled by the dazzling Greg Capullo. Greg also took over penciling duties of Spawn when Todd McFarlane decided to retire (and focus on making Spawn figures, the Spawn animated series, and that dreadful Spawn live-action movie). Capullo is so talented at penciling, that most Spawn fans didn't notice it when McFarlane handed the torch over to him. Angela is an entertaining mini-series that would have made a nice transition into a regular series. It's probably too late for that now because most people have forgotten about this bad girl angel. Look for Spawn to guest-star in this issue.

The Brave and the Bold #30 (3rd Justice League)

The Brave and the Bold #30 (3rd Justice League)
Now you have the first three appearances of the Justice League of America. The JLA would shortly be given a regular series that would launch them into history. A Justice League live action movie is in the works. If they can agree on a script, the movie should begin filming within the next 6 months.

Funniest Star Wars video ever. Watch it and prepare to laugh. Darth Vader begins rambling on about some of the craziest topics this side of the galaxy. There's swearing and adult dialogue, so this one is for mature audiences only. A quality video always deserves an encore.

Wolverine #145

Wolverine #145
Wolverine had been stripped of his adamantium skeleton back in X-Men v2 #25. And he nearly died in Wolverine v2 #75 as a result of Magneto doing that nasty deed to him. So Wolverine basically had to fight with bone claws for a few years until this very special issue. There was always speculation about when he would get back the admantium that made him nearly indestructible. Would it be issue #100 or #125? I don't think anyone expected that it would take all the way until #145 for the big return of the adamantium claws. Penciled by Leinil Francis Yu.

Veronica Mars comic book series?

Hottie Kristen Bell might be hitting your comic book stores sometime this year. Kristen starred as the title character in the critically acclaimed tv series Veronica Mars. The creator of the tv series (Rob Thomas) confirmed that he is in talks with DC Comics to bring season 4 of Veronica Mars to comic book form. Granted that season 3 basically sucked when they switched tv networks and turned the series into a girlie show. I was even glad to see them put the series out of its misery with cancellation. But if this new comic book series can capture the edgy and mysterious stories of seasons one and two, this could be a really fun comic book series. Bring back character Logan Echolls as a smartmouth jackass and this series should be gold. Kristen Bell is currently starring on the tv series Heroes, in case you want to see more of this yummy, yet talented actress. Click on the photos for some large high quality scans.

Savage Dragon #13 - Jim Lee & Erik Larsen Versions (Repost)

2 cbr files | 7 & 9 Mb | 26 & 34 pages
I mentioned a few posts earlier that Jim Lee drew one issue of the Savage Dragon before he retired penciling for a couple years during the 90s. Erik Larsen (creator/writer/penciler of Savage Dragon) was in an uproar when he discovered that Jim killed off one of the Dragon's central characters. That just goes to show you how scattered Image Comics was in those days. So Larsen took it upon himself to write and pencil another version of issue #13 of the Savage Dragon and told Dragon fans to disregard the events that took place in Jim Lee's version of #13. It could have all been fixed if Larsen had just written a simple intro for issue #14 stating that issue #13 was only a dream. In my opinion, I think it was all brought about by a dream Professor X had with the intentions of wiping out the Image universe. Pre-Onslaught destruction. I'm posting both versions of issue #13 so you can compare them and draw your own conclusions. Bauer out.

Uncanny X-Men #274

Uncanny X-Men #274
So what happened after Rogue met Magneto in the Savage Land at the end of issue #269? This is the continuation of that storyline. It's probably one of Rogue's hottest issues of X-Men. Thank Jim Lee for turning up the heat on this southern belle. Can you believe that they left X-Men fans hanging for 5 issues (5 months) to return to this storyline? Whoa. Superman died and returned from the dead in that time. Fortunately, you guys don't have to wait that long. Happy New Year everyone!
