This is Batman's second appearance ever! A regular issue of Detective Comics back in 1939 usually consisted of 9 various detective-type stories. While this issue had only 6 pages for a Batman adventure, the story length varied every month. Although Batman was given his own series in 1940, "Batman" was only printed quarterly (52 pages of story!). Fans could still read Batman stories on a monthly basis in Detective Comics. Bauer out.
