This is the issue that put the X-Men back on the map for good. The original X-Men series basically died for several years and was reprinting early issues of the series. Then this issue was released with a new team of X-Men who were composed of mutants from continents across the world. It's tough to fathom a time when Wolverine or Storm wasn't in the pages of X-Men, but this is the issue that started it all. It's the most coveted issue of X-Men of the 1970s. The regular X-Men series started printing new stories with this exicting new team with X-Men #94 and the rest is history. Cyclops was the only original X-Man in the field (Prof X formed the team) who joined this new team. See how it all began right now. Enjoy! Bauer out.

Shi: The Way of the Warrior Issue #1
This is the first issue of William Tucci's Shi (pronounced She). Shi was in the middle of the crazy "bad girls" trend of the mid-90s. Shi was one of the most popular female comic books of the day with Lady Death and Vengeance of Vampirella. I guess that people just got tired of looking at scantily clad women. Of course that wasn't it. Same old story- if the books are late, you begin to lose your audience. Or the lead artist leaves and then nobody cares about the book. Or if you keep doing mini-series and not continuing a regular series it hurts the appeal of the characters. Let's face it, it's tough to maintain top sales in the comic book market over long periods of time. Most of the top selling titles from 10 years ago don't even exist anymore. Shi was a fun book with the main character taking down criminals in the city. Shi is a sexy, entertaining, and surprisingly violent comic. That's why's she's a "bad girl." Enjoy! Bauer out.

Iron Man v1 Issue #1
With the release of the Iron Man movie next May, you might want to check out this first issue to the regular series. With Marvel having complete control over the upcoming film, it ought to be like a story straight out of the comic book pages. Enjoy! Bauer out.

The Punisher v1 Issue #1
The Punisher first appeared in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man. Frank Castle was finally given his first series back in 1985. The Punisher quickly became one of the hottest characters of the 1980s and early 90s. This is the issue that started the phenomenon. Enjoy! Bauer out.

Glory v1 Issue #1
Remember those Wonder Woman issues drawn by Mike Deodato that I posted a few months back? After he finished his run with WW, Mike joined Image Comics for a while and drew this series called Glory. If it wasn't for different coloring, you would swear that this was basically a continuation of his DC book. The only major difference is that there are more splash pages here, which kind of cuts the dialogue in half. If you enjoyed Deodato's hot women from WW, you should enjoy Glory. She's all about hotness. Glory started making early appearances in comics like Youngblood Strikefile. Enjoy! Bauer out.

Gen 13 v2 Issue #4
This has been a pretty awesome summer. I've had little time to pop back in at the HQ recently. I actually met this model who's as hot as Jessica Alba and she's been keeping me preoccupied. We're both trying to further our careers and work together to do so. Enough about me. How's everyone else doing out there? It's been a while since I posted the last issue of Gen 13, so you're all probably wondering what happened to the team after last issue's cliffhanger. This issue is titled "Tourist Trap." All kinds of crazy things happen in this one, with beautiful women on nearly every page. Grunge certainly has good time on this adventure. J. Scott Campbell sure works his magic fingers on this issue. There's also a second Gen 13 story in this book that is basically a comedy and even pokes fun at Image for creating way too many variant covers. Isn't everyone tired of variants by now? Make a decision comic book companies and pick one cover per issue dammit! I did like that Todd McFarlane variant for last year's Wildcats #1 though. It was just cool to see McFarlane draw something again after a nearly 15-year absence. So enjoy this next issue of Gen 13! Now back to my sexy bikini model. Best summer ever. Bauer out.

Spawn Issue #1
After Spider-Man #16, (penciler/writer) Todd McFarlane left Marvel Comics with several other artists to create an independent comic book company called Image. Artists and writers could finally own their work and not lose their rights once they handed it in to Marvel or DC. Let me give you an example. Jim Lee drew his final issues of X-Men about 15 years ago, but his X-Men drawings appear today on merchandise like X-Men underpants and he has no say about it/makes no profit from it. With Image, artists could approve or reject abuse to their artwork. Of all the original Image series released Spawn was the most consistent. I haven't been following the series for years, but the first 50 issues were certainly fun. Spawn was an interesting and dark superhero of the New York alleys. He also faced off against some cool villains like the Violator, Overtkill, Angela, and many others. It's one of the only Image books that actually had a solid game plan going in, yet issues were delayed on release many times. McFarlane unfortunately retired from penciling comics after the first couple years of Spawn. Enjoy this first exciting issue! Bauer out.

Marvel Swimsuit Issue #2
Summer... so hot. Brain... frying. What better time to check out another comic book swimsuit issue? You don't have to think twice about opening the pages of this issue with a bikini clad Rogue on the cover. Your favorite Marvel babes of the 90s strip down for this fun pin-up issue. Do you believe that beautiful women like X-Men's Rogue are only fantasy? Two words: Marisa Miller. Enjoy! Bauer out.

Image Comics Swimsuit Specials
It's summertime and it's so darn hot that some of our favorite superheroines are stripping down to their bikinis. That's right! These two issues have no educational value whatsoever. They contain pages and pages of pinups of comic book women drawn by artists like Randy Green, Jim Lee, Marc Silvestri, Brett Booth, J. Scott Campbell, and many others. I don't understand why there are some guys in the Homage Special though. If you put Voodoo's big butt on the cover of this issue, it should be an all girls issue. So enjoy some scantily clads drawings of these hotties of Image comics! Cannonball! Bauer out.

Gen 13 v2 Issue #3
How's everybody's summer going? I've been so busy with various projects that I've barely had time to post more comics. In this next issue of Gen 13, titled "The Magical Mystery Tour," (it's going to take you away) the Gen 13 team goes on a safari. If you've been having a bad summer vacation, just look at what happens to the Gen 13ers on their trip. They want a refund! J. Scott Campbell provides some his fantastic pencils for another fun-filled issue of Gen 13. Enjoy! Bauer out.

X-Men v2 Issue #1
Just as Todd McFarlane was handed the reins to create a new Spider-Man series the previous year, the Uncanny X-Men team of Jim Lee and Chris Claremont were selected to bring a new X-Men series to life. This is basically the issue that made the X-Men superstars. Sure, the X-Men had been around for almost 30 years at this point, but Jim Lee's explosive pencils and redesigned costumes created a stampede at the comic book shop. What's not to like about this issue? Magneto is back with a new villainous team called the Acolytes. And I can't think of a better, more solid X-Men team than the heroes in this issue: Wolverine, Gambit, Rogue, Cyclops, Beast, Storm, Jean Grey, Colossus, Archangel, Iceman, Psylocke, Banshee, Forge, and Professor X. And even Nick Fury makes a cameo in this issue. Wolverine battles Magneto in this issue and Rogue gets emotional when she sees Magneto for the first time since their Savage Land romance (Uncanny X-Men 269, 274, 275). Enjoy the first action-packed issue of X-Men! Bauer out.
